For Patients

Here you will find useful information for new or current patients. This portion of the website is meant to be an evolving library of information to help you make empowered decisions about your body.

What to expect at your first appointment?

During your first appointment, Dr. Ofshteyn will listen closely to understand your current symptoms and review any prior imaging, procedures and surgeries. She will then do a physical exam. Dr. Ofshteyn strongly believes that your comfort during the exam is very important.

Dr. Ofshteyn will then discuss her diagnosis with you, and together you will make a plan that fits your life. This plan may involve lifestyle modifications, further necessary tests such as CT or MRI, or a procedure either on the same day in the office or scheduled for a future date.

Dr. Ofshteyn works hard to ensure that every visit is comprehensive, comfortable and educational.

What to bring to your first appointment?

  • Your ID such as a driver’s license

  • Your health insurance information

  • List of your medications

  • Any prior imaging or procedure reports related to your condition (CT, MRI, prior colonoscopy or surgery)

  • Bring any CDs with prior imaging

If you do not have access to prior reports or CDs, please do not delay your appointment. Dr. Ofshteyn and the office staff will work to obtain the appropriate reports and images.
